I have always had a love affair with anything vintage, shabby chic or with its own faded beauty. I was brought up going to flee markets, vintage fairs & french brocantes. With my gypsy traveller roots, my family has traditionally always collected & sold things. My Granny opened the family’s own second-hand shop selling clothes & furniture in 1940 in York City Centre. I loved to visit as a small child & rummaging through the treasures - it felt like my own wonderful personal wardrobe.
In 2010, I opened my first beautiful vintage tearoom, later in 2017 I decided to combine my two loves of drinking tea and eating cake, all served on vintage crockery, plus selling beautiful vintage pieces & so opened The Vintage Rose. In the shadow of the magnificent York Minster, my shop and tearoom has a wonderful romantic gypsy feel. The range I sell is now available on the website, I hope you like them.
If you have any specific requests, feel free to email me and I will do my best to source pieces for you.
